This site is designed for students in the advanced ESL class. This class will help students develop, use, and understand “Street English.” This class will hit on the BICS aspects of English. BICS is defined as the basic interpersonal communication skills that are used in every day speaking situation. It is very common for students to receive formal English training when acquiring English language skills. This class is for those advanced students who wish to speak and understand the “Street English” they hear outside of the classroom.
The main topics discussed in this class will be:

Humor
Figurative Language
Idioms
Hyperbole
Onomatopoeia
Personification
Alliteration
There are also many pages regarding Second Language Acquisition. These include the different methods, stratgies and theories of acquiring a second language.
